The New Farm State School P&C association is a group of parent and community member volunteers, run by an executive (also volunteers). We partner with the school and community groups to bring our activities, such as the fete and our garden group, to our students. We work with the school to enrich our children’s education, and to bring a little fun into their school years.
What is a P&C? A school P&C association provides a formal structure for parents and community members to connect with the school, to partner with the school on strategic projects and to raise funds. If you’re interested in connecting with other parents, or want to have your say, come along!
When are our P&C meetings? General meetings are usually held on the first Thursday of every month during school term. Meetings start at 6pm and you can attend in person at the library (top floor of the main school building), or via Zoom.
What have we achieved? In 2020, we donated funds towards the purchase of several new 3D printers, for use by all students in art projects. We’ve purchased new swimming lane ropes, invested in inclusive play equipment (super-size Jenga and chess) and helped re-fit the tuckshop to better handle the hundreds of orders!
Working with our school P&C is a great way to connect with other parents, and actively contribute to the school and local community.
Parents and community members are invited to join the P&C. The AGM is the only meeting at which we can accept new members without their being present. Membership means you can participate in the decision making as only members can vote!
Our 2021 Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday 2 March from 6pm. Our venue for this meeting is room 2.4 upstairs in D Block.
