Little Farm: an update

Little Farm is a beloved area of our school community, a place where our children have access to a natural learning space.

With the school undergoing a major building project, Little Farm will be closed to our students this year. We’ve had to make some changes (our hens have been re-homed) but we have also made our contractors work very hard to keep the natural feel of this area.

As the building project started, the P&C (as representatives of the school parent community), were recently asked to approve the removal of a number of trees in the Little Farm area. All of the trees marked for removal have been identified as within the footprint of a new building, or were compromised in some way.

The P&C executive continue to meet with the project team. We’re keen to make sure our small wildlife is given the best chance to survive through the next year or so of the build, and that we access to the right people to help us with re-vegetation of the school grounds when the time comes.
