Lost Property (or, where school jumpers and old lunch boxes go!)

New Farm State School Lost Property

Is there a child in the school who hasn’t lost a hat or a jumper by term 3?! We feel your pain, and are here to help.

The P&C goes through the teetering pile of lost property at least twice a term, and places all named clothing on a table outside the school hall each Wednesday. Please be sure to mark each child’s uniform with their name and current class if you can. If we know you, or your child, we can reach out in person or via your class rep.

Any clothing not clearly labelled will be passed on to our Pre-Loved Manager for sale – we move all items without a label, that are suitable for re-sale during week 8 of each term. Any uniform items with tears or stains will be discarded, and any ‘plain clothes’ or other items in good condition will be dropped off to a local charity shop. Lunch boxes with food still in are likely to hit the bin!

All proceeds of our Pre-Loved Uniform shop go directly to the P&C, funding school equipment like the 3D printers in use by all students in the school, and the always pressing need for updates to our tuckshop.

UPDATE: This term our school executive helped us out, and arranged to wash and return to the class teacher all jumpers with a clear name/class marked on the item. Anything without a label, or a clear label was given to the Pre-Loved Manager, after our recent sale was held. These items will be available for purchase, along with plenty of donated items, at our next sale to be held on week 8 or 9 of term 3.

If you think your child might have an item given to Pre-Loved you can reach Nat on preloved@nfsspandc.com.au
