Meet our… Pre-Loved Uniform Manager

Pre Loved Uniform Manager

In the first of our ‘Meet our’ series, we chat with Pre-Loved Uniform Manager Natalie Chin. Nat is a parent to three kids, two currently attending New Farm State School, both valuable off-siders on Pre-Loved sale days. You might also see Nat’s Mum on the stall, or her youngest helping (playing amongst the hanging racks!).

Nat worked tirelessly over the last summer school holidays to sort, clean and set-up our racks of second hand uniforms. She re-opened the shop in January 2021, to record sales! Nat says she’ll be opening the stall up at least twice a term, with more opening days dependent on the availability of volunteers to manage sale day.

Nat has so far raised over $2,500 from eight sale days since the beginning of the year – all funds go directly to the P&C to fund our future projects.

What do you sell?

The pre-loved uniform shop can only sell what our parents and community donate. So far Nat estimates over 680 pieces have been generously donated from our school families, with over 560 pieces being sold throughout the year. This is a great support to all families facing increasing costs – and children who won’t stop growing out of uniforms!

Nat has checked the uniform storage, and currently has in stock a range of school jumpers, track pants, dresses, school polo shirts, shorts and skirts available for sale. While they last, she also has new and heavily discounted maroon track pants for sale (limited sizes).

As an additional service, Nat is happy to offer ‘out of hours’ sales – email preloved@nfsspandc.com.au , to see if she has the size and style of uniform you are looking for.

How will I know when you are open?

The shop is usually open the second and second last week of term – bookmark this page on our P&C website for our pre-loved sales and other P&C events.

Nat says she can open more regularly with some extra volunteer help, so don’t forget to reach out if you’re keen to lend a hand in this way.

Where do I put my donations?

Nat recommends leaving any donations of saleable (no rips please!), washed and ready to sell uniforms, at the box outside the Administration office.

Over to you Nat – tell us something about you?

I am a Peri-operative nurse with over 15 years experience (!). I’ve taken an extended maternity leave after having my third child and will be returning to work soon. My eldest child is in year 4 and our middle child is in year 2. We all really enjoy the school community and activities, but my husband and I very much appreciate the one for grown-ups, Trivia Night! On our holidays you’ll find me at the beach or camping.
